Gel Lighting Remote Shoot-a-SetTrident Studio via Zoom
Sunday 8th June, 2025just £25 per slot
Remotely photograph model Amie Boulton in these creative set-ups
Shoot-a-Set - We create something cool, you book with us for a short session at an affordable price. This one will be held on Sunday 8th of June where you can join us on this Gel Lighting themed event, remotely (via Zoom).
We have now completed many days based on this format with amazing results - so regular events will continue. We will be producing a variety of creative sets and set-ups for you to photograph. Unlike our in-person events, you don't need to commit much time to these. Each session will last for 10 minutes, with most of that being dedicated to shooting time as everything will be ready to go when you join us. If you would like longer, please feel free to book multiple slots. Amie can comfortably free-pose without direction as fast as you can shoot - so there will be no shortage of variety for you.
The sets
All of the set-ups here will be lit with coloured gels, all new set-ups and all new outfits for this event.
Metallic - A hero-esque outfit with glossy gel lighting suitable for up to full length compositions.
Apocalypse - With a post-apocalyptic outfit, moody gel lighting and suitable for up to full length compositions.
Quirky - Pink, girly and very, very quirky styling. Lingerie set with vibrant gel lighting. 3/4 length or closer compositions
The FAQ at the bottom of this page has full information on what you will need to do, and how the system works - it's really important that you familiarise yourself with this before joining us on the day to maximise your shoot time. It's honestly very simple, and not even all that techy :)
Book online
Please select the slot(s) that you would like to join us on, and a price will be generated for you. If you choose multiple consecutive slots within the same style then we will consolidate that on the day in to a single session.
The slots below are shown as our local time (UK / GMT). As a reference for those booking from another timezone - you opened this page on May 28th at 23:06 UK time.

FAQ
What is a Virtual Shoot-a-Set event?
If you have attended any of our portfolio builders in the past, this works in a similar way but shooting remotely from the comfort of your own home.
We will create one special set for all of our attendees to photograph during their chosen time slot. Photographer Chris Conway will be hosting this, so you are in capable hands.
You will be controlling the camera remotely, whilst directing us to make any composition changes for you.
Check out this behind the scenes video for an idea of how things are set up: vimeo.com/414720192 and this one for a perfect insight of how it will work from your perspective: youtube.com/watch?v=h7CmVuEkgFc
What do I need?
You will need a laptop or desktop computer (Windows or Mac) with a good internet connection, microphone and speakers / headphones. A webcam is not essential, but recommended for the best experience.
Sign up for the Zoom Video Conferencing service at https://zoom.us/ and install their application. This will give you the ability to both see and interact with us, along with having remote control of our system here to take photos on the day.
We strongly advise that you try a Zoom test call to check your webcam, mic, speakers etc are working as expected before connecting to us.
What happens on the day?
In advance of all our sessions starting you will be sent a Zoom meeting invitation link. Simply click that and it will connect you to us. You will initially be placed in to a virtual waiting room and we will bring you in to the call properly when we're ready for you. Please try to be in the waiting room at least 5 minutes before your session is due to start. Unfortunately if you are late for any reason then it will mean less time with us so that it doesn't push our entire schedule back.
Will the images be good quality?
100% the same as being there in person. You will be taking photos remotely on a Sony A7RV with full studio flash - so the files that we send over to you will be 61MP raw images and 15MP jpegs for fast viewing. Lens choice on the day will be either a Sigma Art 24-70mm F2.8 or Sony 90mm F2.8 macro.
I'm only a beginner, can I still book?
Absolutely! Our events always attract a mixture of experience levels - from those photographing a model for the very first time up to full time professional photographers. Because of this all being done remotely, you don't even need to have your own camera!
What happens after the shoot?
At the end of each day we will upload all of the images taken to Dropbox, and our virtual attendees will receive download links for their own folder. Due to the size of the raw images this is a long process, but we aim to have these with you by the following morning.
What about copyright?
Just the same as if you were with us in person, the images that you take are your own.
